During a recent project, our Emisshield team had the opportunity to partner with one of the largest aluminum producers in India.
These promising observations led the auditor to recommend coating additional furnaces with Emisshield to gain the same performance benefits as the coated furnace while increasing the service life of the refractory linings.
With the goal of reducing heat loss, mitigating aluminum oxide (dross) formation, maintaining a consistent temperature profile, and improving overall operational efficiency, we applied our High Emissivity Coating (HEC) to the internal surface area of a furnace used for aluminum ingot casting.

After a third-party audit using a second furnace as the control group, several key observations were taken. Most notably, Emisshield was shown to reduce heat loss by 12°C while simultaneously increasing production significantly with a reduction in dross generation by 9.92%. The production increase was significant to the company’s bottom line.
